Rebecca Padula is a Vermont-based visual artist. A lifelong musician, Rebecca’s creative journey began as a singer, songwriter, and performer before shifting to visual art in 2020.
Her work explores the intersection of memory, landscape, and abstraction, drawing inspiration from New England’s rural environment and the color field and abstract expressionist painters of the 20th century.
Working intuitively with layered color, texture, and asemic writing, Rebecca creates compositions that reflect a personal connection to place. She works in oil with cold wax medium as well as mixed media.

Statement
I am a lifelong musician. Singing has always grounded me. For decades, I was a songwriter, guitarist, and performer. In 2020, the world changed—and so did I. My creative expression shifted abruptly and passionately to visual art. Painting became my way to create and share peace and joy in uncertain times.
I love to explore color, shape, line, and composition, and draw my inspiration from the abstract expressionists, color field painters, and the New England landscape.
My visual language is intuitive and playful, rooted in emotion, movement, and memory.
I work in mixed media, on paper and wood panels, including acrylic or oil paint mixed with cold wax medium, soft pastels, pencils, crayons, and collage elements.
